Hi again everybody,

I am delighted to be back this month and updating you with the details of another really successful month.

At our recent volunteers meeting we reviewed the financial status of the Trust and I’m pleased to say that we are making steady progress in improving our fundraising. This has meant that we are now able to ease away from just dealing with the urgent requests that we get from families with very sick children. Whereas we were really just responding to requests for supermarket vouchers, so that families could navigate their way through the cost of living crises, we are now able to help with things like short breaks to bring some relief to families that need a rest from the relentless stress of managing long term cancer treatments. We can also look forward to some of the great events later this year that have been so fondly appreciated in the past, like Winter Wonderland and Family Day, that we have had to shelve since lock down.

Big thanks again to Esher Scaffolding who have been a fantastic support. The guys there have filled a good many of the places we arrange at Swim Serpentine, Marathons and Half Marathons etc., and have been able to continue supporting us in many other ways. Just recently we had our bi-annual Ladies Lunch and Esher sponsored a table solely for some of the NHS nursing staff as a ‘Thank You’ for their hard work and dedication. Amazing, thank you guys.

The Ladies Lunch was a big success again. Thanks to all the lovely ladies that supported it and Natasha Stevens who did such a great job organising it. Make sure you are signed up for the next one!

We also had Beth, Lucy and Karen arrange a fantastic live music night at Karens pub, The Globe in New Arlesford. Spectacular venue, very generous guests and over £7000 raised. We really can’t say ‘Thank You’ enough to all that helped and supported it.

How you can join in and help…

We have an awesome fundraising, team Go Karting event arranged for the 7th September at the Surbiton Raceway. It is for teams of up to 5 drivers and is an endurance race over two and a half hours, with 30 mins practice beforehand. That is a lot of track time with all proceeds going to the Trust! We still have a handful of spaces left so get your friends together and join us with a team. Message Alex via info@emilyashtrust.co.uk if you would like to enter a team.

We have our Annual Ball on the 12th October at The East Sussex National Golf Club. It really is the highlight of the year, and we can still squeeze a few tables in, so make sure you are there for a great night out for a good cause. Message Ginny or Sue via info@emilyashtrust.co.uk if you would like to arrange a table or even individual tickets.

That’s all for this month. Thanks to everyone for all your continued support.
